Growing up, I've always enjoyed playing with makeup. I never thought twice about the ingredients that were in the products I put on my face nor the packaging that encased it. At the start of 2020, I discovered that billions of units of plastic packaging were produced each year in the cosmetics industry - and looking into my own makeup bag, I felt uncomfortable with the amount of plastic I was contributing. I started researching for cleaner makeup products I could use in my beauty routine that came in biodegradable packaging, however, I struggled to find a makeup company that committed to both of these without paying a hefty price. From there, Smidge Beauty was created to fill the gaps in my own beauty routine.
