FAQ

How are you a sustainable business?

Our primary containers are made from FSC-certified paper and post-consumer recycled paper materials that is biodegradable. Our shipping boxes and business cards can be recycled. Additionally, we use packing peanuts made of cornstarch, which decomposes in water, and we use honeycomb packaging paper (kraft paper) as filler material for shipping. One of our goals that we would like to accomplish by the end of 2022 is to donate a portion of our profits to various environmental organizations/nonprofits. If you have any that you support, please reach out to us! We would love to learn more.

What are the tiny white specks on my balm?

Since our tubes are made from paper materials, paper fibres from the lid may fall onto the surface of the balm. While we try our best to brush off all the fibres prior to packing, sometimes shipment will prompt more to appear. The fibres are completely safe and can easily be removed with your finger.

What scent is my balm?

When formulating our balms, we wanted to keep our ingredients list as minimal as possible so we have omitted any sort of fragrance materials. That means they smell like the ingredients the balms contain, specifically it smells like shea butter, which is a mild nutty scent.

How do I dispose my balm once I’m finished using it?

When you’re ready to dispose your color balm, you can toss them into a compost pile where it will biodegrade in six months. Although not necessary, we recommend that you cut the tube into smaller pieces for easier decomposition! You can also toss them into you’re recycling bin!

Once I finish applying my balm, how do I close it?

  1. Use the back of your hand to push the product down, then cap the lip back on.
  2. Tap the balm onto a hard surface, which will cause the balm to slide back into the tube.
Tip for a less messy approach: Don't push the balm too far up! This way, you can simply cap the lid back onto te tube without pushing or tapping the balm back in.
